San Miguel de Salinas is a nice Spanish village near the Mediterranean Sea and a popular municipality in Alicante, Valencia just 15 minutes' drive from the beaches of Mil Palmeras, Campoamor, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Torrevieja, La Mata, Guardamar, etc. The protected area of Sierra Escalona is just a short walk from the centre of the village. You can walk or cycle for many kilometres along the irrigation canal that runs through the village. Around San Miguel there are citrus, cherry and almond plantations.
There is a wide variety of restaurants and bars, both Spanish and international. There are almost 30 in the town centre, which means the annual tapas event is very popular! There is an Irish pub and a Champagne & Oyster Bar. Local taxi service and buses run several times a day to Torrevieja, Orihuela and Murcia. Alicante and Murcia airport are about 40 minutes' drive away. The local internet company offers reliable and fast internet connections (fibre optic).
